Limo escape [for Sonya]
Jan. 3rd, 2013 08:59 pmHanzo had prided himself on humanizing himself from the undead specter he once was, but he had never been fond of crowds. Maybe this had been the same for him when he was alive. A spontaneous escape from the throng of mostly teens are twenty-somethings seemed to be a really great idea. Hanzo took a beer for the road as he and Sonya exited the festivities and boarded a private limousine.
The limo was excellent. It was quiet and isolated from the bustle of the large city around them. Times Square and the packed throng of people started falling into the distance. The interior was comfortable and well appointed. He stretched out his arm across the back of the seat, and behind his wife.
"Now this is a nice change of scenery from living in a hut with small children."

Scorpion had left the Earthrealm warriors after their victory over Shao Khan. He wanted to roam Earthrealm once more before the realms ceased their merging, and he would be returned to the Netherrealm. But there was one more thing on Scorpion's mind. He had done all of this before, and it had been on his wanderings in which the inexplicable journey to Tabula Rasa had happened to him. And, at the very same point, at the very same time, it happened once more.
But instead of finding himself standing at the top of the large waterfall, he found himself in bed with Sonya. Hanzo's eyes opened, and he sat up. He pressed his hands to his face and felt living human flesh once again. He felt a heartbeat in his chest. Then he let out a breath. Blinking, he sat in silence trying to come to terms with what had just happened. The contrast between what he had been in the dream, and what he was now was so stark. But which was the dream and which was the reality?
Hanzo reached a hand to gently shake Sonya awake.
"Sonya..."

Polyhymnia O'Keefe Wakes Up As Scorpion
Jun. 25th, 2010 06:30 amI woke up, alone, but only mildly disappointed by that fact. I knew I'd be seeing Zell early on. I sat up, stretched, and rolled my shoulder to work out a twinge. As I put my hand on my shoulder, I suddenly realized I wasn't wearing my nightshirt. Then, when Iooked down at myself, I suddenly realized I didn't have any breasts.
"Oh, no! Not again!"
My hand immediately went to my throat. The last time the Island had taken my breasts away, it had de-aged me to a twelve-year-old. My twelve-year-old self sang soprano. That was no soprano.
"What?" I said huskily. "Hey! What?!"
I jumped out of bed, and found myself wearing black boxer shorts. And surprisingly hairy legs. I looked up as I contemplated this revelation. Then I looked down. Biting my lip, I reached down and gently touched the area between my legs...
"Oh, my God!"
Mirror. I needed a mirror! But this man I inhabited didn't have a mirror! Typical male! Could this day get any worse?!
I ran out of the hut in search of a mirror -- and immediately clonked my head on a low branch.

Haunted by demons [for Sonya]
Mar. 21st, 2010 02:07 amOne of the things Scorpion had found strange about being human again was his ability to dream. He had not dreamed since his death, and had no memories of dreams. He had been having many dreams since arriving on the island and becoming human again. But yet, he couldn't remember them. He had slowly decided that this was normal. Humans did not normally remember their dreams. His suspicion was that all of his human memories were still inside his head,, and that when he was asleep, they were threatening to re-emerge. He had spent many mornings puzzling over what he had just been dreaming about.
On this particular night, Scorpion was dreaming.
He was running. He was back on Earth, and he had to catch Sub-Zero before he could murder his clan, his wife, and his son. Rain poured from the dark clouds overhead. He was alive again and thought he could stop their deaths. Scorpion spotted his enemy far off in the distance. The figure hopped fences, climbed up walls, and dashed across rooftops, and Scorpion struggled to keep up with the incredible pace.
Fear drove him. Scorpion hardly ever experienced fear, but it was there now. He could not fail again. He MUST STOP this from happening, no matter what! In a sudden lightning flash, he saw Raiden standing ahead of him. Raiden commanded him to stop and told him the Elder Gods would not allow him to alter fate. Intensely defiant, Scorpion hurled a spear at Raiden. Raiden dodged the spear, and Scorpion had to jump and roll as Raiden sent a bolt of lightning toward him.
Scorpion kept moving. He didn't care what it took. He would defy the Elder Gods if it meant saving the ones he cared about. Then he saw....
....his home! Scorpion could remember his home! Sub-Zero was there and almost inside where his family slept.
Hanzo shouted at the top of his lungs, "NO!!!"
Sub-Zero broke the window out with one hit of his fist and slipped inside. Scorpion teleported inside with a flash of flame. But, he watched the scene through a wall of ice that Sub-Zero had created. He saw his wife and his son vaguely through the ice. Hanzo shouted to them. They turned, and he saw Elizabeth standing there with Weatherby. Sub-Zero had been replaced by Shang Tsung who yelled out, "Your souls are mine!"
Scorpion ripped off his mask, and blew hellfire against Sub-Zero's ice melting it. But it was too late, Weatherby had been replaced by Hanzo's dead son who lay bleeding face-down on the ground. Hanzo felt powerless and knelt by his son's corpse in horror. He remembered the other one who he loved, and he turned and saw....Sonya. Sonya?
Shang Tsung was going to kill her, but Sonya fought back. He rose to help her, but felt Raiden's hand on his shoulder, preventing him from rising. Raiden said that Hanzo was dead, and could not help. Sonya fought bravely, but Shang Tsung caught her with a lucky blow and he watched helplessly as the sorcerer brutalized her. It was horrifying. He had feelings for Sonya now, and was watching her body become unrecognizable, just before Shang Tsung claimed her soul.
After waking up, Scorpion raced out of his hut. He was dressed in his yellow uniform, since he didn't yet have other clothes to sleep in. He had to see Sonya. Now. He had to know Sonya was alright, and that he had just had a dream. Or was this the dream? The island could not be real. The island made no sense. The dream...seemed real. He felt the ground under his feet blazing by him, but he distrusted his senses, especially his sense of reality.
Once within sight of Sonya's hut, he slowed and crept with stealth towards the door. Scorpion wanted Sonya to be alright. Perhaps he could just see everything was okay, and slip back to his hut and figure out what had just happened. He slowly opened the door and took a few steps in. Sonya was fine.
He let out a breath of relief.

[For Sonya]
Feb. 15th, 2010 09:00 amIsland life was slowly becoming the norm for Scorpion. By now, he had accepted that he was human again. There was no guarantee for how long, but it didn't matter all that much to him. He'd take the unexpected opportunity for however long the powers of the island saw fit. But, what to do with himself?
With having forgotten his life as a human, he didn't remember what he used to do every day. Surely he had not spent every waking hour training and killing. He wondered if he used to have hobbies. It was hard for him to imagine himself collecting stamps or building model airplanes or gardening. Surely ninjas did not do these things. What ninjas did on their off-time was still a mystery to him.
So, Scorpion decided to go for a walk. He had been avoiding the general public more or less, but he thought today was special somehow. The sky seemed a little bluer. The breezes were fresher. The clouds were a bit puffier. Before he began to wonder why exactly he had been thinking about the puffiness of clouds, he saw a familiar figure headed his way. They made eye contact.
